Sightsavers works with partners in more than 30 developing countries in Africa and Asia to eliminate avoidable blindness and promote the rights of people with disabilities. Sightsavers aims to ensure people gain access to eye health services and receive the eye treatment they often desperately need. Sightsavers is at the forefront of the concerted global effort to eliminate neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) such a painfully blinding diseases like trachoma and river blindness by 2025. They also work to promote inclusive education, giving all children the chance to go to school and support the inclusion of adults with disabilities through projects focusing on economic empowerment and political participation.
