In 2022-2023, L'OCCITANE Benelux and and the L'OCCITANE Foundation have partnered with TREES FOR ALL to boost biodiversity by increasing the forest area in the municipality of Eersel.
There is several monotonous forests there. These forests consist of one or a few tree species, making the forest vulnerable to drought, diseases or pests. Some trees have died or disappeared, but have not been replanted. And various landscape elements (such as hedges, tree rows or wooded belts) have been breached. As a result, numerous plants and animals are losing their habitat. Moreover, the beautiful landscape is losing its unique character. Together with the municipality of Eersel Trees for All wants to change this: we will plant in total 400,000 new trees before 2030. They will plant new forests, restore existing forests and plant new landscape elements. The activities that will be realized with the Trees for All contribution on these parcels are:
1. Purchase of tree and shrub seedlings: only endemic species will be used in the project.
2. Planting the seedlings: in planting season (November-March) the trees will be planted. On average 2.700 trees and shrubs will be planted per hectare on the plots where new forests will be planted.
3. Maintaining the seedlings: after planting the trees will be looked after for a period of 50 years. Trees for All contributes to the maintenance and monitoring of the trees.
For every tree planted in the Netherlands, Trees for All plants a tree in a foreign project. The aim is to plant these trees in our project in Vietnam.
