This project is supported by the L'Occitane en Provence Foundation.
Context
80% of of the learning process is achieved through sight, and wearing glasses when necessary can reduce the risk of failure at school by 44%. However, a large proportion of the French people dooes not have access to eye care due to a lack of financial resources. In priority areas especially, schools' medical services are in need of resources, and a large number of children do not have access to visual screening: on average, there is one school doctor for every 12,000 pupils.
Supported Project
In 2024-2025, the L'Occitane en Provence Fund supported a Share It's project aiming to support Helen Keller Europe's efforts to grow and expand by enabling a more efficient management of its operational data.
Helen Keller Europe is working to curb the increase in visual diseases among children by detecting, raising awareness of and facilitating access to eye care in schools in priority areas.
Today, the lack of an efficient digital tool for orthoptists leads to data loss and limited follow-up. With the support of Share it, the association is developing a CRM tailored to the different profiles of beneficiaries, and connected to a mobile application to optimise the recording of screenings, the monitoring of the beneficiaries and the analysis of the results.
After an initial operational scoping phase, a prototype and a technical scoping phase were set up, before the final phase of production and deployment of the CRM tool, with users getting used to it.
