This project is supported by L'Occitane en Provence Taiwan.
Context
By 2050, the proportion of people aged 65 or over is expected to increase by 6%. At the same time, the world's population is expected to have an average life expectancy of 77.2 years in 2050. Together, these two factors show that the population is gradually ageing, highlighting the need to consider health issues affecting older people. In Taiwan, for example, older people account for more than half of all visually impaired individuals, which has a significant impact on their mobility and quality of life.
Supported project
In 2025-2026, L'Occitane en Provence Taiwan supports the Light of Love Association's project to promote eye health in local communities. They conduct free eye care clinics for at-risk populations in order to provide screening services. For seniors who are at high risk of eye damage and blindness, social workers will collaborate with the community to intervene with case services and regularly provide resource linking and consultation. They also organise training sessions to improve visual function.
The project aims to actively contribute to the creation of a community eye care network, which will effectively address the lack of eye care resources in remote communities. It continues to promote the concept of saccadic eye movement to make eye training increasingly popular and universal, so that everyone can learn to operate, promote eye health and relieve fatigue.
