This project is supported by the Malaysian affiliate of L'OCCITANE en Provence.

Context

The Ophthalmology Department of Hospital Kuala Lipis is a novel department among other hospitals in Malaysia. The department was created in August 2021 with suboptimal facilities. It currently has a single surgeon, single optometry officer, few medical officer and lack of paramedic. With times, the patients coming to the clinic itself had showed tremendous increasing number. The Department can't accommodate anymore the numbers for screening by using old-fashioned visual acuity examination.

Supported Project

In 2023-2024, L'OCCITANE Malaysia is supporting the procurement of ophthalmic machines and surgical instruments for the Ophthalmology Department of the Hospital Kuala Lipis, in Pahang, Malaysia. This will enhance the Department's services and will help the clinic, optometry services and operation theater to run smooth in the long run.

The Department will acquire in particular;

  • Smart Visual Acuity machines, which will be used to screen visual acuity more accurately, saving a lot of space in the clinic and helping in reducing the waiting time.
  • A lensometer, that can measure the refractive power of patient’s glasses.
