Fighting Blindness Canada (FBC) has been leading the fight against blindness since 1974, when this organization first received charitable status as the Retinitis Pigmentosa Foundation of Canada. In 2000, FBC became the Foundation Fighting Blindness and expanded its mission beyond rare inherited retinal diseases, such as retinitis pigmentosa, to include age-related macular degeneration.
