Context

Trees are essential to all life on earth as they give us oxygen, clean air, food, protection, coolness and water. Forests are important for biodiversity and provide a habitat for countless plants and animals. They also play a major role in tackling climate change. Therefore it is important that we protect and restore our existing forests and plant new ones. By planting forests all over the world and raising people's awareness of the importance of trees, Trees for All wants to contribute to a liveable planet for everyone.

Supported Project

In 2023-2024, L'OCCITANE en Provence Benelux supported a Trees for All's project in Eersel. The municipality of Eersel in the province of North Brabant has the ambitious goal of planting no fewer than 400,000 trees before 2030 and Trees for all works to help with this green ambition. The planting in Eersel is divided into three themes: planting new forest, restoring existing forest, and planting landscape elements (trees and hedgerows). New forests were planted at nine different locations on former agricultural lands owned by the municipality. As such a natural woodland edge with shrubs and trees is created which will benefit birds, insects and small mammals. The plantation of trees also improves the soil quality by increasing its permeability and revitalising its life, which will create a healthy forest ecosystem over time.
