Context
Cities destroy biodiversity and Seoul's natural ecosystem has been damaged a lot. In an era of climate catastrophes, expanding natural spaces and green spaces to promote urban sustainability and biodiversity becomes an inevitable choice and offers several benefits. In addition, the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals include "sustainable cities and communities" should provide accessible and safe public gardens for all.
Supported Project
In 2024-2025, L'OCCITANE en Provence Korea supported the Seoul Green Trust Foundation in a project acting to raise awareness about the value of biodiversity by regenerating green areas in urban parks. This project focuses on the plantation of various pollination plants, the creation of gardens to secure wildflife habitats, and the monitoring of the ecological changes in the park. It also seeks to communicate with citizens about this garden project in order to enhance their awareness of their environnements and promote the value of urban parks.
