This project is supported by the L'OCCITANE Manufactures.
Context
In a lot of places, the lack of funding for forestry improvement initiatives other than planting or reforesting results in environmental damaging exploitation practices, monocultures only aming at producing wood and the uniformisation of forests. The consequences are an economic deficit for the region, a significant loss of biodiversity and the great vulnerability of these forests to climate change. Without the necessary actions or the adapted means, our forest heritage is in danger.
Supported Project
In 2024-2025, L'OCCITANE Manufactures funded a Sylv'ACCTES project entitled "Act together for the Forests in Ardèche and Drôme". Launched in Ardèche in 2022, this project includes itineraries in chestnut groves, pine forests, softwood sands and beech-fir forest. In the Drôme Valley, it started in 2023 and focuses on oaks, beech trees and pine trees. The forestry activites are adpated to each mountain range and its problematics. A first step of dialogue with inhabitants, local representatives and charities was led to identify the main issues of each territory. Forest management models were then build to deliver benefits in terms of climate, biodiversity, economy and society. Syl'ACCTES accompanies land owners to implement those virtuous models and actions.
