Context
"Terres de liens" is an association accompanying farms and farmers in their transition towards a biological agriculture. As part of the "Terres de liens" movement, this initiative seeks to preserve the agricultural lands by ensuring a responsable social and environmental exploitation. It will take part in the development of agro-ecological agriculture by encouraging collective and solidarity dynamics. The aim is to promote an agriculture producing healthy food while maintaining a rich biodiversity on the territory to keep alive the beauty of Provence.
Supported Project
In 2024-2025, L'OCCITANE en Provence's Manufactures supported a "Terres de Liens" project focused on the hamlet of Giraudis in Provence. "Terres de liens PACA" bought 55 ha of the Forcalquier plateau to cultivate the space in order to enable farmers to combine pasture and silviculture while preserving and even improving local biodiversity. The main goal of the project is to show that it is possible to support biodiviersity while developping a silvipastoral activity. In this perspective, a local group was constituted in order to document the evolution of this space. It gathers farmers and volunteers of the association "Terres de liens PACA". In the context of the reintroduction of a productive pastoral activity, farmers are assisted in order to improve the local biodiversity by taking into account new variables such as climatic changes. The support process deals with diagnosing the biodiversity and following its evolutions. At the same time, advice in terms of pastoral practices are delivered and actions to protect the biodiversity are carried out. .
