There are 2 million women over the age of 15 in Ireland, and a quarter of them (500,000) experience coercive control, physical, sexual, emotional and/or economic violence at the hands of a current or former partner. In Ireland, 9 out of 10 women who died as a result of violence were killed by a man they knew, and over 50% were killed by a current or former intimate partner.  Every 5 minutes, someone turns to Women's Aid for information and support.
