This project is supported by L'Occitane en Provence USA.

Context

For several years, California's forests have been ravaged by many wildfires. Since 2013, several large-scale fires have ravaged hundreds of thousands of hectares of forest in this area. During these blazes, many seeds and cones are destroyed, and, as a result, the sites are invaded by invasive species, minimising the possibility of natural regeneration.

Supported Project

In 2025-2026, L'Occitane en Provence USA supports One Tree Planted's Rim Fire Reforestation project. This project is planting native species trees to restore forests in Northern California that were devastated by wildfires. Planting trees will increase water supply and water quality; reduce soil erosion; increase structure and thermal cover for wildlife species; and lower water temperature in riparian areas, while simultaneously increasing carbon sequestration.
