Context

With European immigration to New Zealand in the 19th century and tourism today, many native ecosystems have been degraded by the emergence and spread of invasive and aggressive alien species.

Supported Project

L’OCCITANE New Zealand and the L’OCCITANE Foundation support a project to restore New Zealand ecosystems by planting native tree species in selected areas. Volunteer farmers and primary classes help plant the trees.

Farmers and schoolchildren participate in tree planting, which promotes an environmental awareness and a dynamic around sustainable agricultural practices and reforestation.
