Context

Ontario is 60% covered by forests, they represent 71% of Canadian forest, which represents millions of hectares equivalent to the territories of Germany, Italy, and the Netherland combined.

Preserving this ecosystem aims to protect the natural habitat of many wild species such as woodland caribou, black bears and barred owls. It also helps protect drinking water resources while contributing to fight against global warming.

Supported Project

L’OCCITANE Canada and the L’OCCITANE Foundation support a reforestation project in riparian areas. This programme will connects Ontario’s fragmented forests and will supports Canadian wildlife habitat and biodiversity.

The objective of this action is to improve soil quality in order to reduce soil erosion while encouraging the preservation of animals and plants. This project improves the overall health of the environment by restoring ecosystem services and sequestering carbon. As a result, it participates in the production of a natural heritage for future generations.
