Context

Foresta is a project to create a new type of urban park in the heart of the northern districts of Marseille. The purpose is to welcome and encourage the emergence of innovative activities, with an ecological, economic and civic vocation connecting stakeholders with surrounding priority neighborhoods. This inclusive and innovative territorial development project is an original response to the societal challenges faced by the northern, fragmented and weakened districts.

Supported project

The L'OCCITANE Foundation joins the Yes We Camp endowment fund as part of its “Ca pousse” program aimed at rehabilitating a 16-hectare wasteland on Foresta hill in the heart of the northern districts of Marseille thanks to the creation of orchards in agroforestry and in collaboration with citizens.

This project aims to plant different varieties of Mediterranean fruit trees and shrubs in the context of participatory projects. The biodiversity-enriched site will also have habitats and refuges for small animals and insects. The associated educational activities will help to promote "a culture of nature" through the transmission of knowledge and awareness in the ability to be a producer of its environment.
