Context

Like many neglected tropical diseases, river blindness disproportionately affects the world’s most vulnerable people, trapping their families in a cycle of poverty. Over 200 million people worldwide require treatment for this disease, one of the leading causes of preventable blindness.  

 

Supported project 

In 2020, L'OCCITANE Middle East and the L'OCCITANE Foundation are supporting the Reach Campaign through the End Fund. The supported project is the "Reach Campaign" which provides treatment and preventative care for ending river blindness in 7 countries in Africa and the Middle East.

Launched in February 2020, together with the Emirates Red Crescent, the Reach Campaign is an initiative to raise public awareness and funding to end river blindness. By partnering with forward thinking brands who share thiscommitment to freeing the next generation from preventable blindness, the Campaign seeks to inform and engage the general public in the effort to end river blindness.
