For over 30 years, L'OCCITANE has been working in Burkina Faso side by side with women producing Shea butter. In 2017, more than 10,000 women – brought together in cooperatives – supply the Shea Butter to the brand. Simultaneously, the L’OCCITANE Foundation, since its creation in 2006, has been involved in projects promoting women’s leadership in Burkina Faso and around the world.
Discover the new Solidarity Balm with Shea butter and perfumed with Violet! Honoring women in Burkina Faso, this product is made with 98% of fair trade Shea butter and wears the African spirals of wax fabrics. 100% of the profits* from the sales of this product will be donated to projects promoting women’s leadership.
This year, L'OCCITANE sees on a larger scale women's leadership and joins UN Women by contributing to its Funds for Gender Equality. Since its creation in 2009, 191 organizations in 72 countries have invested in the political and economic empowerment of women. More than 10 million women benefited from programs financed by the Fund.
